Who is the township’s Earned Income Tax Collector?
Berkheimer Tax Administrators is the Township’s Earned Income and Local Services tax Collector. They are located at Wallace Building Room 109, 41 Macek Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15227. Their phone number is 1-800-360-8989. You can call them directly or visit their web site at www.hab-inc.com

Do I pay them the full 1% Earned Income Tax Rate?
No. The Fort Cherry School District changed their collector effective 1/1/2007. You must pay 1/2 % to Berkheimer and 1/2 % to the school districts collector.

Who is the school districts collector?
The school districts collector is Keystone Municipal Collections at 118 Wendel Road, Irwin, PA 15642. Their phone number is 1-866-539-1100. You must contact them directly. The township can not help with any problems you may have with them.

Who do I contact regarding a problem I am having with the gas well drilling in the township?
While the township has done everything it can to protect the interests of the township residents with regard to the gas well drilling operations, problems may still arise that need attention. You may contact Range Resources Corp. directly at 380 Southpointe Blvd., Suite 300, Canonsburg, PA 15317. Their phone number is 724-743-6700.

If I am having problems with my garbage collection who do I contact?
You need to contact Waste Management at 1-800-266-4460. The township only secures the collection rate everything else is handled directly by Waste Management.

I have a question about my cable service and the township’s phone number is on my bill, do I call the township?
No, the township’s number is only on the bill because we are the host municipality for your area with regards to the franchise fee. We have nothing to do with your provider, your service or your rates. You must call them directly.

Who do I contact about real estate tax bills and questions?
Any and all issues regarding real estate taxes should be directed to the township’s elected tax collector. Her name is Jamie Torboli and she can be reached at 724-356-2484. Payments can be mailed to her at 4 Kelley Lane, Hickory, PA 15340. Check your tax bills for her hours at the Municipal Office. You can check her section of the website for more information also.

Who do I contact about loose dogs or stray cats?
The Township’s Animal Control Officer is Kym Secreet and she can be reached by phone at 724-746-4344. She is very busy but if you leave her a message she returns all calls. At this time she does NOT deal with any stray cats.

Who do I call to report a dead deer?
If it is on a state road you need to call Penn DOT at 724-223-4480 and if it is on a township road you need to call the PA State Game Commission at 724-238-9523.

What is the latest news on the water project?
The Public Utilities Commission ruled in favor of Pennsylvania American Water Companies offer to bring water to portions of Mt. Pleasant Township. The tentative schedule calls for the project to be completed by September 30, 2009. A tentative map, that is subject to change based on the scope of the project, is located in the lobby of the municipal office which is located at 31 McCarrell Road, Hickory during normal office hours of Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm.

When can I reserve a pavilion?
The start date of renting a pavilion is set at the first meeting of the Board of Supervisors of each calendar year. It is usually the first Monday in February for residents of the township and the second Monday in February for non-residents but please call the township at 724-356-7974 first to confirm because that date is subject to change. You can also watch for a notice in the Observer-Reporter Newspaper. After that initial date, reservations can be made at any time the municipal office is normally open and rentals typically run from May – September. Do I call the township if I have a question for the Police Department and it is not an emergency?
No, the Police Department has their own phone number and that is 724-356-7917. The officer on duty is usually out of the office on patrol but if you leave your name, phone number and brief message someone will call you back as soon as feasibly possible. Otherwise, you can call 911.

I have question about getting a building permit, who do I call?
You can reach our Zoning Officer on Tuesday – Thursday from 8:00 am – 4:00 pm. He can answer all questions pertaining to building permits, subdivisions and code enforcement. His name is Larry Chome and his direct number is: 724-356-7928.
